STEPHANIE REDLICK AKA STEPHANIE ALESSIA

MULTIPLE THEFT & FRAUD CRIMINAL CHARGES

Stephanie Redlick [AKA Stephanie Alessia], 28, appeared by Zoom on Thursday accused of fraud totaling more than $26,000, theft over $5,000, making forged documents, as well as false pretenses with intent to defraud using cattle worth more than $5,000

Provincial police said a fraud investigation began earlier this year after receiving a complaint about “transportation and financial irregularities of livestock being transported from a farm in Tay Township and sold at a Cookstown stockyard sale in September of 2024.”

In June, South Georgian Bay Ontario Provincial Police revealed a warrant for the arrest of Redlick was issued. Redlick, who lives in North York, was arrested by Toronto police. Investigators revealed she was known to police.

REDLICK’S SMEAR & INTIMIDATION TACTICS

Many people have stayed quiet out of fear — because anyone who speaks publicly about Stephanie Redlick, also known as Stephanie Alessia, risks being targeted and smeared.

Attacking us does not bring back a dead foal. It does not restore 16 emaciated horses who were seized.

And it does not change the fact that Redlick (AKA Stephanie Alessia) is currently facing multiple criminal charges for theft and fraud in two jurisdictions. (See the CTV News reports above and below.)

HELP DEMAND JUSTICE FOR REDLICK’S HORSES

In addition, Redlick faces 13 Provincial Offences Act charges in relation to the seized horses — including seven counts of failing to meet standards of care, three counts of causing distress, and three counts of permitting distress.

When 16 horses are seized in severe documented condition — and one must be euthanized — laying only provincial Animal Welfare Services charges is not enough.

The Criminal Code exists for cases involving unnecessary suffering and serious neglect.

The Crown has the authority to assess those charges.

That authority should be exercised.

The public has the right to demand that the neglect of 16 horses be reviewed under sections 445.1 and 446 of the Criminal Code of Canada. (Take action with a done-for-you email here.)

ADDITIONAL THEFT & FRAUD CRIMINAL CHARGES

A Bradford, Ont. woman accused of animal abuse and neglect is now facing new fraud charges involving the sale of livestock earlier this year in Innisfil.

Stephanie Redlick, 29, of Bradford has been charged by South Simcoe police with uttering a forged document, fraud over $5,000, and being in possession of the proceeds of crime and forgery.

According to court documents obtained by CTV News, Redlick is accused of passing off an altered cheque to defraud a livestock auction house in Cookstown out of more than $15,000 in March.

Redlick was previously charged earlier this year for what Provincial Police believe was fraud relating to the sale of cattle in Innisfil in September 2024 totaling more than $26,000.

STEPHANIE REDLICK – HORSES SEIZED FOR NEGLECT – CHARGES LAID

According to an article in Bradford Today Stephanie Redlick had 16 horses seized by Animal Welfare Services of Ontario (AWS) in February 2025 — and was charged by AWS on June 5th and 6th with seven counts of failing to meet standards of care, three counts of causing distress and three counts of permitting distress.

The article states: “A Feb. 24 report from AWS notes the horses were suffering from infected wounds, lameness, parasites, malnourishment, poor hygiene and untreated medical conditions.”

The article goes on to state about one of the mares seized:  “A Feb. 12 report from AWS noted she was suffering from very thin body condition, nasal discharge from both nostrils, large scabs and swelling of the left hind.

Less than one month after AWS seized the horses, an AWS March 11 notice confirmed the horse had been euthanized on the advice of a veterinarian.”

WHY THIS CAME TO OUR ATTENTION…

On February 4th, 2025, the Ontario Provincial Police alerted Animal Welfare Services (AWS) about the dire conditions of Stephanie Redlick’s horses.

Reports described a heartbreaking scene—water troughs left empty, buckets filled only with ice, horses without shelter, and emaciated animals forced to pick through their own piled-up manure in search of food.

Despite the urgency of the situation, AWS did not visit the property for the first time until February 12th.  Yes, really — it took 8 days for inspectors to check on the 16 horses for the first time.

Even more alarming, the horses were not removed until February 20th – 16 days after the initial reportraising serious concerns about the province of Ontario Animal Welfare Services’ effectiveness and accountability.

YOU BE THE JUDGE

Although Stephanie Redlick claims to provide excellent care, recent visits to the property she was until recently leasing in Oro-Medonte, Ontario, suggest otherwise. (The horses were moved on February 8th to 1315 Scugog Line 2, Port Perry, ON L9L 1B3.)

We invite you to review the attached pictures and videos and form your own opinion.

One particularly distressing case involves a newborn foal who was left in a cold drafty ramshackle barn. Unable to stand, she was unable to nurse, all while enduring windchill temperatures as low as -26°C (-15°F). Tragically, the foal did not survive.  [Full story here.]

Outdoor water troughs were empty, and the water buckets inside were frozen solid.

The horses left outside were forced to eat poor-quality, mouldy hay — with the wrapping strings still attached.

Inside, there was no sign of hay at all, and visitors were even asked if they could provide some.

The “stalls” appeared to have never been cleaned, with manure piled a foot or more deep.

Horses were seen picking through their own waste in a desperate attempt to find something to eat.

The horses were severely dehydrated, dangerously thin, many with sores and untreated wounds.

We find the pictures hard to look at, they haunt us — but if everyone looks away — then who is going to stop what’s happening?

Hoof care seemed completely neglected

Again, Animal Welfare Services was first alerted to this situation on February 4, 2024, when Stephanie Redlick had 20 horses in her care.

Before A.W.S. arrived to investigate on February 12, advocates persuaded Redlick to surrender four horses.

Upon examination, an experienced farrier noted that some of the relinquished horses may have never had their hooves trimmed. One horse still wore shoes estimated to have been in place for eight to nine months – well beyond the standard care cycle of four to eight weeks.

DETAILS/DOCUMENTATION

The stall had about 3 feet of manure in it and the mare was eating hay that was also her bedding.

The baby was uncovered and cold.

I warned them that the baby would die if they did not feed her every 20 minutes and keep her warm.

Stephanie Redlick did not stay the night and texted Dianne during the night to say she didn’t stay because she was too tired.   The baby was left alone and died.  – Jim Horne

UPDATE on 1 of 4 horses relinquished by Stephanie Redlick.  The vet warned the horse may not live.

There are still 16 horses in the ‘care’ of Redlick. [Seized Feb. 20, 2025 – charges have not yet been laid.]

Thank you to Summer Secord (Mitchell), Crystal Mitchell and Celia Carletti for being willing to step forward and speak out.

Today, it has been announced that all 16 remaining horses have been seized by Animal Welfare Services. [This remains an active investigation.]

This follows Redlick’s earlier surrender of four severely malnourished horses — one of whom was in such dire condition that humane euthanasia was the only option.

We’ve been made aware of multiple advertisements posted by Stephanie Redlick (she has MANY aliases) dated January 31, 2025 – this practice continues even AFTER all her horses were seized.

See the advertisement here, then be sure to watch a video of volunteers lifting a blanket from a horse they are convinced is the same horse – 3 days after the ad was placed.

Their reaction to the poor condition of the horse says it all.

MORE PRESS

Following weeks of public complaints and concerns about the welfare of a large number of horses living in poor conditions on a farm in Oro-Medonte, Ontario, and later in Port Perry, they have been seized by the province’s Animal Welfare Services (AWS).

A series of disturbing events became the catalyst for this response when a horse-owning neighbour of Stephanie Redlick’s, Jim Horne, was alerted that a newborn foal was in distress at the farm on Feb. 2. The filly was found unblanketed in an uninsulated barn and despite assurances she would be properly cared for, she later died. Horne noted that other horses in Redlick’s care were in very poor condition and there was a noticeable lack of fresh water and feed.

⚠️ BEWARE: REDLICK’S ONGOING PATTERN OF DECEPTION & FRAUD

Despite facing multiple criminal and 13 animal welfare charges -- Redlick continues to resurface under aliases and new fake social media and Kijiji profiles, carrying on her long-standing pattern of harassment, smear campaigns, and online deception.

Fall 2025: Redlick appears to have moved on from her brief “I’m a hauler” phase, during which she attempted to collect pre-payment for horse transport using photos of rigs she had absolutely no connection to.

Stephanie Redlick has also been advertising “cheap hay” with images stolen from U.S. farmers and equipment owners—who have publicly confirmed they do not know her.

On top of that, Redlick has a documented pattern of misrepresenting horses she sells. She routinely advertises injured or unsound horses as healthy, and has even gone so far as to “sell” horses she does not own, using photos lifted from the internet.

In some cases she even claims that delivery is included—an impossibility, given that she has no access to the horses she’s pretending to sell.

Most recently, Redlick has been presenting herself as an “equine therapist,” claiming: “I’m like a doctor. I’m a therapist, but I’m not registered, so you have to pay me directly. OHIP doesn’t cover my charges.”

When potential clients ask where her horses are or where appointments occur, she insists they must first e-transfer payment for ten sessions—after which she will “meet them at Tim Hortons.” As usual, she never appears.

For years, Redlick has operated under countless aliases and dozens of Facebook accounts to target and intimidate anyone who speaks out.  We know of at least a dozen phone numbers she uses through a system that is - according to both the RCMP and Ontario Provincial Police -  well-known to be used by scammers.

These tactics—impersonation, misrepresentation, and relentless online abuse—are intended to silence people. Instead, they strengthen our resolve to raise awareness and demand accountability from Ontario’s Animal Welfare Services.

STEPHANIE REDLICK’S ABOVE THE STARS EQUINE RESCUE – FALSE CLAIMS

Immediately after having her horses seized by AWS – Redlick threw up a website and presented herself as “Above the Stars Equine Rescue” AKA Under the Stars Equine Rescue with a fake Canada Revenue Agency number.

“They [Above the Stars Equine Rescue] are not, and never have been, a registered charity,” said Charity Intelligence Canada managing director, Kate Bahen, in the July 2025 Orillia Matters article.

KNOWN ALIASES OF STEPHANIE REDLICK

Stephanie Redlick hides behind numerous aliases, operating over 30 Facebook accounts and multiple Kijiji profiles under fake names.

Even though Redlick is facing criminal and animal welfare charges she's not stopped creating new profiles to attempt to publicly discredit anyone speaking out against her.

Stephanie Redlick has more than a few phone numbers including:

(647) 220-3691 | (437) 600-7158 | (647) 695-3057 | (705) 998-7705 | (613) 263-0641 | (647) 797-0289 | (705) 315-0588 | (316) 746-8529 | (647) 474-4071 | (705) 535-0525 | (705) 300-0340 | (226) 988-6961 | * (416) 885-9422 | Sammy Redlick: (226) 988-2005 | Dec. 2025: (705) 370-6661 | (647) 365-1265 | (705) 995-3697 | (778) 400-0408

FAQ: How does Stephanie Redlick AKA Stephanie Alessia have so many phone numbers?

That's a GREAT question and one that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in British Columbia answered after it was reported to them that someone bought a horse from Redlick - that she promised to deliver and $10K later the horse was not delivered.

Later it was discovered that Redlick NEVER had the horse she "sold" in her possession - that the pictures she used were ones she simply found on the Internet.

The RCMP recognized where all the phone numbers came from - "A known service to be widely used by 'professional' scam artists". VERY cheap to secure phone numbers.

It is of course free to set up multiple Facebook profiles and multiple profiles on Kijiji, etc.

And Gmail email address are cheap and easy to set up - she has even more email addresses than phone numbers and fake names.

Many people have stayed silent out of fear—because anyone who speaks out about Redlick's behaviour becomes a target.

Stephanie Redlick's default tactic is to aggressively smear and discredit anyone who dares to expose the truth which only makes us more determined to raise awareness and demand accountability from Ontario’s Animal Welfare Services.

SPEAK UP - IT TAKES LESS THAN A MINUTE

This 2-click "done for you" email sends a clear message to elected officials that Ontarians will not accept a system that allows repeat harm.

It takes less than a minute — and it puts real pressure on decision-makers to close the loophole that allows Redlick to keep accumulating horses - even after 16 were seized, 13 animal welfare charges were laid - and she owes over $116,000 for their care.
