TRYING TO SELL HORSES SHE CAN’T DELIVER?
We have been informed that Stephanie Redlick operates under numerous aliases on Facebook and under “King Farms” on Kijiji.
Despite surrendering four severely emaciated horses and receiving written orders from Ontario’s Animal Welfare Services (AWS) to complete specific tasks by February 20, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., Redlick is still actively listing horses for sale.
It remains unclear whether she has the necessary resources to comply with these orders, including providing essential veterinary care for horses in need.
Following our initial reports, Redlick relocated 16 horses under her so-called care to a property in Port Perry, Ontario. However, she was quickly banned from the premises by the property owners due to non-payment of rent.

1. The team at https://horserescuefund.org has begun raising funds to support the Mitchell family in caring for the 4 starving horses they convinced Stephanie Redlick to relinquish.
Providing these horses with veterinary care, prescriptions, specialized nutrition, and farrier services has already been costly.
HRF covered the $950 cost to dispose of Seattle Sunrise’s body. Despite expert care and a carefully followed treatment plan, experienced equine veterinarians determined that euthanasia was the only humane option.
Financial support to continue the care and recovery of the three surviving horses would be greatly appreciated. Every contribution makes a difference.

Subject: Urgent Need for Accountability in Stephanie Redlick Horse Neglect Case
Dear Minister Kerzner and Mr. McCarthy,
I am writing to express my deep concern over the unacceptable delays in the intervention and seizure of neglected horses from Stephanie Redlick’s property.
While it is a relief that these animals have now been rescued, it is deplorable that Animal Welfare Services (AWS) took eight days to even visit the property after being alerted by the Ontario Provincial Police on February 4th.
Reports described horrendous conditions—empty water troughs, frozen buckets, a lack of shelter, and emaciated horses forced to pick through their own manure for sustenance.
Despite these clear signs of neglect, the horses were not seized until February 20th—16 days after the initial report.
This delay is unacceptable. Animal Welfare Services must be held accountable, and its response protocols must be improved to prevent future suffering. The welfare of animals in Ontario depends on swift and effective enforcement of animal protection laws.
I urge you to conduct a full investigation into AWS's handling of this case and implement necessary reforms to ensure that such failures do not happen again. No animal should be left to suffer due to bureaucratic inaction.

CANADA SLAUGHTERS HORSES FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION
It may be hard for some to believe that tens of thousands of horses, are routinely slaughtered in Canada, for human consumption.
Some of the meat is consumed in Canada and much of it is shipped to the European Union and other markets, including China and Japan.
This barbaric practice is currently banned in the United States, so horses from the United States are shipped to Canada and to Mexico to be slaughtered.
In addition Canada allows for the transportation of live horses to Japan, and South Korea to be slaughtered for human consumption, and unfortunately the transportation of horses destined for slaughter within Canada, and by air, is far from humane.
