KNOW THE FACTS BEFORE YOU DONATE
OR SURRENDER A HORSE
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who reached out to us about SAVE THE HORSES NOW after being contacted by Stephanie Redlick.
We truly appreciate you taking the time to share this information with us. By looking out for one another and speaking up when something raises concerns, we can help ensure that people have the information they need to make informed decisions.
Thank you for caring, for reaching out, and for helping us look out for the welfare of horses.
While we push for accountability, we’re also working to save lives — currently raising funds to support 4 horses in New Brunswick who would otherwise have gone to slaughter. Every dollar raised this month will go towards their veterinary and hoof care as well as feed and bedding. Thank YOU for your continued support.
We hear about horses almost every day in need of support...

HORSES SLAUGHTERED FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION
Every year thousands of horses are routinely slaughtered in Canada, for human consumption, but you can help us ban horse slaughter in Canada and beyond.
Some of the meat is consumed in Canada, and much of it is shipped to the European Union, and other markets, including Japan.
This barbaric practice is currently not legal in the United States, so horses from the United States are shipped to Canada, and to Mexico, to be slaughtered.
In addition Canada allows for the transportation of live horses to Japan to be slaughtered for human consumption, and unfortunately the transportation of horses destined for slaughter within Canada, and by air to Japan for slaughter, is far from humane.
