HELP NEEDED TO SEARCH 80 ACRES FOR MISSING HORSE

Tracy Lynn Benkendorf reports that Lady, a young healthy mare has gone missing from Adorado Nino Horse Rescue & Sanctuary.

Adorado is located in Leduc, Alberta (near Edmonton).

A message has been left for the Brand Inspector at the Bouvry Horse Slaughter plant in Alberta.

Tracy is requesting help searching the 80-acre Rescue and Sanctuary property in Leduc.

Exterior fencelines have been checked, and open pastures as well, but there is a good amount of acreage that is heavily treed (and cross-fenced) so those willing to walk and search would be greatly appreciated.

If you are available to help search or know anything about the whereabouts of Lady please call Tracy at 1 (780) 433-4333

Lady is a young healthy horse.  There is a chance that she’s been stolen.

Anyone who has – or knows – horses is also thinking…

Horses slip through fences, they sometimes go over them, they even sometimes roll and slip under fences and then are unable to get back to their herd.   She could be running a fenceline somewhere.

They unfortunately also get caught up in fencelines and cast.

Again, help is needed by those willing to walk in cold, snowy weather through heavily treed areas of the property to search for Lady.

If you are available to help search or know anything about the whereabouts of Lady please call Tracy at 1 (780) 433-4333

CANADA SLAUGHTERS HORSES FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION

It may be hard for some to believe that tens of thousands of horses, including pets, are routinely slaughtered in Canada, for human consumption.

Some of the meat is consumed in Canada and much of it is shipped to the European Union and other markets, including  Japan.

The barbaric slaughter of horses is currently not legal in the United States, BUT  horses, including pets and ex-racehorses, from the United States are shipped to Canada and to Mexico to be slaughtered.

In addition Canada allows for the transportation of live horses to Japan,  to be slaughtered for human consumption, and unfortunately the transportation of horses destined for slaughter within Canada, and by air, is far from humane.

ASPCA: “Horse Slaughter is NOT Euthanasia”

Last year, approximately 80,000 American horses were trucked over our borders (to Canada and Mexico) to be slaughtered for human consumption. Until this practice is banned and Congress passes a law against slaughter here in the U.S., no horse is safe.    The term...
