SPECIAL NEEDS HORSE STOLEN FROM RESCUE/SANCTUARY
UPDATE Sunday, October 30, 2022, at 1:12 PM — no one has come forward to prove publicly or privately that this horse has been found and is in a safe place.
The fear is that after being picked up she was sold for meat, and is either sitting on a feedlot or has already been shipped to Quebec and slaughtered.
_________
Stolen: Horse – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have been notified.
This 14.2 HH 30-year-old mare needs a special diet and medications, so finding her in a timely fashion is especially critical.
Stolen the morning of Thursday, October 27, 2022 from a property on Hwy 23 | Vassey Rd., Waubaushene | Coldwater, Ontario — at approximately 6:30 a.m.
A dark pickup truck with a stock trailer removed the horse without the owner’s knowledge or permission.
The hauler may have been duped into believing that the owner gave permission.
If you are the hauler – or have any information…

In addition Canada allows for the transportation of live horses to Japan, to be slaughtered for human consumption, and unfortunately the transportation of horses destined for slaughter within Canada, and by air, is far from humane.
ASPCA: “Horse Slaughter is NOT Euthanasia”
Last year, approximately 80,000 American horses were trucked over our borders (to Canada and Mexico) to be slaughtered for human consumption. Until this practice is banned and Congress passes a law against slaughter here in the U.S., no horse is safe. The term...
