IN 2020 APPROXIMATELY 35,000 HEALTHY HORSES FROM THE USA WERE SENT TO CANADA & MEXICO TO BE SLAUGHTERED FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION

DOWN FROM 60K THE YEAR BEFORE

The government of the United States, has for now defunded inspections of horses at slaughter plants which means for the time being, it is no longer legal to slaughter horses within the United States.

BUT make no mistake about it, healthy wild and domestic American horses are still being slaughtered.

Last year approximately 35,000 American horses were shipped to Canada and Mexico in over crowded, leg breaking trucks without food or water for 2 to 3 days.  Horses that include those who are pets.

You can help put an end to this inhumane treatment of horses.

CANADA SLAUGHTERS HORSES FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION

It may be hard for some to believe that tens of thousands of horses, including pets, are routinely slaughtered in Canada, for human consumption.

Some of the meat is consumed in Canada and much of it is shipped to the European Union and other markets, including  Japan.

The barbaric slaughter of horses is currently not legal in the United States, BUT  horses, including pets and ex-racehorses, from the United States are shipped to Canada and to Mexico to be slaughtered.

In addition Canada allows for the transportation of live horses to Japan,  to be slaughtered for human consumption, and unfortunately the transportation of horses destined for slaughter within Canada, and by air, is far from humane.
